Tool support for Enterprise Product Line Practice / Platform
Our client is looking for assistance in selecting tools to support product development end to end. Eg - Documenting commonality, variations, traceability etc
They are starting to look at BigLever. Are there any others that ought to be considered?
Have we done an assessment of tools / open source support in this arena?
Are these modeling type of tools or more configuration management?

Re: Tool support for Enterprise Product Line Practice / Platform
The following are some competitors I identified for BigLever. Not sure if all are exactly in the same space.

Pure::variants from Pure Systems GmbH

And also at the JOLT awards the finalists in the category (Design Tools and Modeling) that BigLever won are

IBM Rational Software Architect
Serena Mashup Composer from Serena Software

Corticon Business Rules Modeling Studio from Corticon Technologies

Structure 101 for Java from Headway Software

Enterprise Architect from Sparx Systems
