Description: Business Rules are individual pieces of logic that are captured in specifications by business/system analyst, and put into application program code by programmers. There are two major problems with this approach. Traditional systems development methodologies tend to create applications that are "Black Boxes", whose inner workings are often unknowable, and which are difficult to change. The business rules movement is addressing these issues in a number of ways. Tools and techniques are being developed for capturing rule definitions.
