Application Severs deliver applications to client computers or devices, typically through a network, using various protocols. An Application Server handles most, if not all, of the business logic and data access of the application. In this evaluation three Open Source Application Servers are highlighted. The purpose of this document is to evaluate and compare identified proprietary Application Servers against Open Source alternative within the Application Server category.
